WIP~LET'S BEE SOCIAL: QUILT AS YOU GO HIPSTER BAG

My daughter mentioned that she'd like a purse, but not too big of a purse...and I was looking for something quick to do. So...I came up with this quilt as you go HIPSTER BAG:

My first go at it turned out a little too...long?

 So, I cut it off, re-sewed the bottom, cut off the flap, re-sized it and came up with this: I added loops and store bought strap, and it was done! AND she likes it! :) Happy Wednesday to you, thanks for stopping by!

WIP & LET'S BEE SOCIAL: What it is and what it should be

This top, for my Aunt & Uncle, in celebration of their 40th Wedding Anniv is done. My "quilt models" weren't available, so I tried to hang this in my sewing room. It doesn't really work well to display my quilt for documentation purposes, but I love how it looks like stained glass! Makes me happy...so happy that I made this the background on my cellphone! :)

TGIFF~A "Little" Finish!

I wanted to try "quit as you go" and so I decided to make mug rugs for me and my six co-workers, and here they are!

They were a hit! (mine is the all-polka spotted one :)) I did one sample, quilted myself "into a corner...but not in a good way" and kept it pretty simple after that first try. Thanks for stopping by!

Sew Cute Tuesday~Quilt As You Go

In between my big projects, I like to do little projects. I wanted to have fun with scraps, and decided to practice Quilt-As-You-Go. Had a lot of fun...made everyone in my work group their own mug rug...they will be so thrilled (rolling my eyes on their behalf)

Main lesson: don't forget the backing! Had fun, used scraps...Win/Win!

WIP Wednesday ~ Let's BEE Social Mini Medallion Finish ~ Almost!

So, I've been working on Mini Medallion by Corey Yoder of www.littlemissshabby.com, and it's posted on the Sew Mama Sew blog www.sewmamasew.com, under PARTICIPATE > SEW ALONGS, and here's where I am:

There is supposed to be another row of squares on point around it, but I decided I was happy with it at this size. Maybe my first mini-quilt for my wall? Just need to bind it :) My daughter is working on a special quilt for her husband. Happy little clippings, reminds me of Bob Ross and his happy little clouds :)
