WIP Wednesday: Progress on the Chicken Handbag!

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced Progress on my chicken handbag. This is my second go around and here's what I've found...if I get tired, I stop. The instructions are fine, but it's a little complicated...so if it doesn't make sense the first time I read it, I stop and go back to it later. I have had NO screw-ups this time (had to rip a couple of times my first go around. So here she is:
I love it! I think I want to put leather handles on it, fortunately there's a big Quilt/Sew/Craft show this weekend, so I'll see what I find there. Here's the pattern, like I said, it's pretty well written:
Here's the first one I made:
And check out my sister's blog...she made one too! www.runninghen.blogspot.com Thanks for stopping by!

  1. It looks great! Bags intimidate me- they are so complicated! But yours makes me want to try one.

    1. Slow and steady, that's the key...and take a break when things don't make sense. As I said, this is the second time around for me on this pattern, and that helps! Give it a try, first one might not be perfect (heck, they may never be perfect) but they will be unique!

    1. Karen, totally found that by accident...it was in the home dec department of a local store. But that's great, because it's a bit heavier and should hold up better! Thanks for stopping by!

  6. I'm learning that lesson at the moment too! Things turn out better if I don't keep pushing through when I'm frustrated or confused or tired. Sometimes it's easier to say than do though, a new kind of discipline :) Leather handles will look great on your bag, hope you find some at the show! The chickens are great :)
